Trip to Eureka

On a pleasant day in March, we set off to see the tallest building in Melbourne – Eureka Tower.

At the base of the Tower, we were met by a friendly staff member for a quick meet and greet. She briefly talked about Eureka’s design and features as well as the construction. The students eagerly awaited the experience to see Melbourne from above.

It did not take long. In fact, it took 38 seconds to get to the observation deck (Eureka Skydeck 88), which is 285 metres above ground. It occupies the entire 88th floor of the Eureka Tower and is the highest public vantage point in a building in the Southern Hemisphere.

The students were blown away by the spectacular views. We were able to see Albert Park Lake, Port Phillip Bay, the Dandenong Ranges and beyond. Some students were also keen to experience The Edge – a glass cube that projects from the 88th floor of the Eureka Tower and suspends visitors almost 300 meters high above Melbourne. It was a lot of fun as we got to see Melbourne like we had never seen before. We will definitely be back!
